Week 1 Phoenix

Race 1 this week at Phoenix will be a 75 lap affair and will require 1 pit stop.  Practice will began at 18:45 for 30 minutes followed by qualifying and the race all in one server.  (Next week at Homestead is our first dual race “tournament” format.)   Full coarse cautions will be on with all restarts single file.  There will be no wave around as this is 1979 and IndyCar not NAPCAR!  To help car count I have decided to allow 2 resets; my hope is that before too long we will have enough cars that this would not be necessary but for now this is the safe way to make sure there is not just 2 or 3 cars at the finish.

Phoenix Open Test Results

Thanks everyone for coming out I put in the fastest time at the very end but not sure how real it is as I was really going after it and really used up the tires after just two lap.  So it was a good Qual run but would never be able to run that in the race.  My race pace was only 4th so looks like we have a nice tight field which means it should be real fun!

Open test set for Phoenix

This Sunday starts this season with an open test at Phoenix International Raceway.  For this test I will not have a password on it and leave the sets open but provide what I have in the shared folder.  The idea behind this is if someone is really good with setups they can make some changes and if it still isn't crazy loose (remember this is a fixed setup league so we need a setup that is neutral even if that is a little slower then a setup that has more oversteer) then we can use that instead.

While it is not required to stay they whole 2 hours of the test if you are planning on racing with us please stop in for at least a little while and post some sort of time.  Then if you haven't done so already please sign up at http://legendinhisownmind.blogspot.com/2012/03/sign-up.html.

iRacing schedule

*Please note is still tentative schedule and may change some but getting closer to finalizing.*

Sessions will open at 2:45 pm EDT (18:45 GMT) on Sundays with a 30 minute practice followed by quals and race.  Weeks that have heat races race 1 will be just as normal but will be under "tournament sessions".  Race 2 will be put up as soon as possible after the completion of race 1.  Indy Qualifying week will start at the normal time and will be under the "tournament sessions" but have an 1.5 hour practice before a 4 lap qualifying run (please note I will take that AVERAGE speed not the quickest lap.  The setup for this week will be the race setup with low fuel.)  Indy Race week will be normal time and under the "tournament sessions" with normal warmup but will not have quals obviously.
